People Worth Building Relationships with Will Keep Your Secrets

The Importance of Trustworthy People in Your Life who Keep Your Secrets

“Heroes in the world never break their promises. It’s truly fortunate to work with heroes.”

Throughout history, someone who can keep a secret is considered trustworthy.

Many people enjoy communicating with those who can keep secrets. It feels secure to interact with them, and a sense of admiration naturally arises.

People worth getting to know will keep your secrets confidential.

Meeting these individuals is lucky and will lead to genuine friendships.

People who can keep secrets have good character.

Yesterday, I video chatted with a friend I haven’t seen in four years.

My friend told me:

She shared her secrets with her best friend, but the best friend told others, making her a laughingstock.

Because she confided in her best friend, who then betrayed her trust, they had a falling out.

My friend was heartbroken for not safeguarding her secrets and losing a good friend.

Seeing her sadness, I told her:

“If someone can’t even keep their best friend’s secrets, what else can they do?”

A person who betrays their best friend’s secrets won’t have much to preserve! How many people will like such a person?

Maybe revealing a best friend’s secrets may pique others’ curiosity, but when people judge this person, they won’t use kind words. Someone who betrays even their best friend surely has poor character.

Although my friend was upset over the best friend’s betrayal, I want to emphasize that someone truly worth befriending is someone who keeps your secrets, showing their good character and making you feel secure in their company.

A person with a bad character, even if they become your friend, will only bring trouble and complications.

People should communicate with those with good character. If someone’s character is lacking, it’s best to leave early.

As the saying goes: “Associate with the virtuous and you will become virtuous; associate with the wicked and you will become wicked.”

Being around someone with a bad character might eventually influence you negatively.

Therefore, there’s no need to be sad about losing such people because they are not worth it.

Someone who keeps your secrets cares about you.

Someone who keeps your secrets truly cares about you.

In life, we often see:

Gossip lovers gather to speak ill of others, usually because they no longer like that person. They enjoy spreading that person’s secrets.

Many people consider someone a close friend, but that person doesn’t reciprocate.

Yet, you trust them with all your secrets, only to realize later that while you confided in them, they were planning to expose your secrets to others.

If someone genuinely cares about you, even if they gossip about others behind their backs, they will keep your secrets because they value you greatly.

You’ll notice that people who love gossiping about others never speak ill of their parents when in company. They love their parents and wouldn’t utter a bad word.

Some individuals cherish their friends dearly. Even if a friend confides in them, they won’t disclose those secrets to others.

In the past, there was an incident in our workplace:

A colleague trusted another and shared some secrets. However, the trusted colleague took screenshots of their conversation, shared them on the company’s computer, and pretended not to know.

Later, when this was discovered, the colleague feigned innocence, pretending it wasn’t intentional.

Sometimes, when you consider someone a friend, they might not care about you. So, don’t pour your heart out to everyone.

Someone who publicizes your secrets and then apologizes is not sincere. They harbor resentment towards you and don’t care about you.

Such people are not worth befriending. Don’t be swayed by their sweet words; their actions show they don’t care about you but rather wish to harm you.

Steer clear of such negative individuals.

No one wants to be betrayed by those they trust.

No one wants to be hurt by those they trust the most; it’s a painful feeling.

When your trusted person reveals your secrets, it’s not just about the secret being out but also the betrayal.

When you trust someone, you see them as perfect and share everything with them.

You might spend free time chatting with them, hoping for a close bond.

But one day, you might discover that someone you wholeheartedly trust sees you as a fool and shares your secrets with everyone.

Some say that physical harm is one thing, but hurting someone’s feelings is unforgivable.

A person you trust who then betrays you is essentially trying to harm you emotionally.

If someone betrays you for their gain or other reasons, revealing your secrets to others, don’t worry about their feelings; it’s best to distance yourself from them.

Many people disclose our secrets and then come back to apologize and seek forgiveness.

You might feel compassionate when they apologize, recalling the good times you shared, but giving in would mean you’ve lost.

As they say, “If someone betrays you in a relationship, they will do it again.”

Friendship works similarly. If someone betrays you once, they might do it again.

No one wants to be betrayed by those they trust. When faced with someone who has betrayed you before, it’s best not to forgive.

A person worth befriending is someone who knows how to keep your secrets. Everyone has secrets they’d rather not share with anyone but their most trusted confidants.

People should learn to confide in those who keep their secrets and value those who safeguard their privacy.
